How This Works
Once you have received an email notification that a document package has been
created and is ready for download, you will need to perform a couple simple
steps to view and print the documents right from your web browser.
1. Click on the 'download' button to access the secure download page on
the PPDocs.com website.
2. Select the option you wish to use for printing your documents. We highly
recommend using OPTION #1 for viewing and printing your documents. This option
utilizes the SwiftView document viewer. The SwiftView installation is a
one-time installation and you will not need to repeat this when
receiving documents from us in the future. Read more about installing the
SwiftView below.
3. Read and follow the instructions for downloading and printing your
documents.

Notes on Downloading the Documents
I've got SwiftView installed...now what? Once the installation of the viewer is
complete, simply open your email notification back up and click on the 'view
& print' button under OPTION #1. This should automatically open
your web browser and begin downloading the documents.
At this time, there may or may not be activity on-screen depending on your
internet connection speed. A quick way to see if the documents are downloading
is to check the bottom left-hand side of your screen. The information bar
should display the number of kilobytes read, and this number will increase as
the download proceeds.
Example: 128k Read
If you are using a dial-up connection to the internet, this download may take a
while and you may notice that this number will occasionally stop and start.
Once the download is complete, you will able to view the fist page of your
document package on-screen in the browser.

Notes on Printing the Documents
Once the document package is visible in your browser, you will notice two new
items displayed on-screen. On the top left there should be a new tool bar, and
on the right there is a page counter along with forward/back buttons that allow
you to review the documents before printing them.
If you only wish to print certain pages, use the "PRINT" button and select PAGES
under the PAGE RANGE section then enter the page(s) you wish to print.
Example: If you only wish to print page 35, you would click PAGES under PAGE
RANGE, and enter page 35 to 35.
If you have difficulty printing* or you do not
have a PCL 5 compatible printer, select USE WINDOWS PRINT DRIVER under the
OUTPUT TYPE section.
*Once printing has completed if you notice that certain pages
contain odd characters or do not print completely, this may mean that you do
not have a PCL 5 compatible printer. Using the Windows print driver under
"PRINT" should resolve any such issues, and you can select to print only those
pages which did not print correctly.

SwiftView Troubleshooting & FAQ
What are the system requirements for SwiftView?
-
IBM-compatible PC: 200Mhz CPU, 32MB RAM recommended minimum
-
Windows 9x/NT4.0 SP3/2000
-
PCL-compatible printer using PCL driver version 5e. (PCL driver versions below
5e offer sketchy results; PCL driver version 6 is not supported. PCL versions are
backwards-compatible, however. Therefore, any printer capable of supporting PCL
6, will work with a 5e driver.)
AOL problems with installing the browser-based plug-in.
If you are an AOL user who is having difficulty installing the SwiftView®
plugin, click
here to force the installation. If this does not work for your
particular version of the AOL software, read below for the procedures you will
need to follow.
America Online (AOL) versions 4 and 5 use a highly customized version of
Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser. Installation of the web browser plug
in on these versions has been hit-or-miss. For this reason, it is recommend
that you bypass the embedded AOL browser and user the default Internet Explorer
browser that is package with the Windows operating system. (Note: Older Windows
95 installation may not be running IE4.01. In this case, the browser will need
to be updated to the
latest version before attempting to install SwiftView.)
Minimize AOL and open Internet Explorer by double-clicking the Internet
Explorer icon on the desktop, or by clicking "Start", then "Run", then typing
(without the quotes): "iexplore". If prompted to run the "Internet Connection
Wizard", select "local area network (LAN)" as the connection type and do not
set up an internet mail account. Empty the "Temporary Internet Files" folder by
selecting "Tools", "Internet Options", "General" then reattempt the
installation by copying the installation address under Step 1 of the email
notification into the IE browser "address" field.
AOL is able to install SwiftView, but receives a "file not available" or "error
11019/12001" when attempting to download the document package.
This is generally seen after a successful installation using the AOL-modified
web browser. Start by emptying the AOL "temporary Internet files" folder. Then
attempt to download the documents again. If the error persists, bypass the AOL
browser as described above.
Another odd AOL behavior is that, under certain conditions, the browser will
display an "HTTP Error - 404" page while the document package is actually being
downloaded in the background. If the "404" error occurs, make sure that the
status bar (the bar at the bottom of the web browser) indicates no activity
before continuing.
Windows® NT4.0/2000 user is unable to install SwiftView.
Make sure that you are logged into the workstation as a user with
administrative rights to the workstation. Only logins with such rights have the
ability to install software under Windows NT/2000. If you login to a domain, it
is important that you have administrator rights on the domain as well as the
machine. If you do not have administrator rights on the domain and you login to
the domain, you will not be able to install the software as you assume the
rights defined on the domain.

Printing Troubleshooting
I can install SwiftView® and download documents, but attempts to print result in
garbled text or nothing prints at all.
Once printing has completed if you notice that certain pages contain odd
characters or do not print completely, this may mean that you do not have a PCL
5 compatible printer. Using the Windows® print driver under "PRINT" should
resolve any such issues, and you can select to print only those pages which did
not print correctly.
Most documents print just fine, but information on some documents appears
garbled or misaligned.

Miscellaneous
Why SwiftView and not Adobe® Acrobat®?
Even in the age of broadband internet communications, speed is still of the
essence. And unfortunately broadband is simply not an option for many
individuals due to limited availability. Using the PCL 5 format file coupled
with the SwiftView® technology, we are able to keep the file download size to
tolerable levels even for the slowest of internet connections. These files
average 250-300Kilobytes in size when then same file in Acrobat® format could
easily exceed 10Megabytes or more.
Our design specifications revolve around quality, portability, and size. While
stellar in both quality and portability, Acrobat® files are simply too large
for us to accommodate our clients using dial-up internet connections in a
timely manner.
Where can I get updates for my web browser?
For Microsoft® Internet Explorer updates click
here.
What is a Hyperlink?
Referred to many times as either a "link" or "web address", a hyperlink is
simply a cross-reference in an electronic document which moves you to a new
location in the document or opens a new document in a different program.
